It’s official! BKA has a new home!

WE’RE MOVING!

After 15 years of making our home at Way of the Crane and spending our Saturdays at the Boulder Circus Center, we’re finally making a move to our new home, at the former location of West Gate Kung Ku (next to Elite Dance Studio, and a few doors down from Boulder Bikram Yoga).

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!

We could not pass this opportunity up, so we are making the move right away! Our dojo is already equipped with soft but firm, 2-inch wall-to-wall mats, a welcoming lobby, 2 changing rooms, an office, 4 bathrooms (shared with the neighboring Elite Dance Academy) and more.

Wednesday, Sep. 19, 2018 will be out first day at the new dojo.

We are thrilled to welcome you into a wonderful new space, with great positive energy, where our Boulder Ki Aikido community can all be together under one roof.

We look forward to adding new classes for younger children, expanding our hours to include Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering some complimentary modalities, holding weekend seminars and making great use of the space throughout the week. Please contact us if you are interested in teaching classes at our new dojo. All modalities must be centered in connection, oneness and community.

Conveniently located just about a mile north of the old dojo, it is easily accessible from both Valmont and 55th St. (near the Baby Laughing Goat coffee shop and the 55th St. Post Office).

Last time we did this, everyone who participated had a great time. Cool mornings, beautiful scenery, elk bugling and warm afternoons followed by bon fires and roasting tofu over an open BBQ flame. Who could ask for more? Children (and their families) who attended the Tweener & Teen Peace Samurai weapons camp with VIllacorta Sensei may attend this event. Thanks to Eric Neeb’s family for extending this to all of us at RMKS!

Lael Keen Sensei began her study of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido (Aikido with Mind and Body Unified), in 1976, at the ripe age of 17. She was immediately attracted by the beauty of the movement and its non-violent philosophy.

She currently holds a 5th degree black belt and is also certified teacher of Shin Shin Toitsu Do (The Art of Mind Body Union) by the International organization of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido Kai in Tokyo.

In 1984, she graduated and started her career in Rolfing, a technique aimed at realigning the human body around the central axis and the integration of this alignment in daily activities. She became a certified Rolfing Instructor in 1995.

She is one of the founding members of the Association of Rolfers and teaches Rolfing worldwide.

In 1993, she began the practice of Somatic Experiencing, an approach for the treatment of post-traumatic stress, founded by Dr. Peter Levine, and was studying with him in the United States. She is a pioneer of this work in Brazil. With her husband, Russell Jones, and 3 other Somatic Experiencing practitioners, she founded the Somatic Experiencing Association of Brazil. EXPERIENCE & LEARN:  The Yuen Method  | Energetic Ki Healing | Vibrational Ki Fitness

At this workshop, you will:

  • Experience peace, neutrality, relaxation as a result of instant releases of negative thoughts, emotions, stress, tension, and more…
  • Energize your mind, body, cells & systems, in-turn healing your body of pain & dis-ease
  • Use Vibrational Fitness Bars to activate internal and external fitness
  • Learn & understand the basics of how to apply the Yuen Method in your life for Health, Fitness, Relationship, Prosperity & more…

ABOUT THE YUEN METHOD

The Yuen Method teaches us to energetically identify underlying weaknesses (root causes) of our issues, ailments and challenges. And then, to change those weaknesses to strengths with a focus on the midline, or connecting to (KI, QI, CHI) which in turn release or eliminate our issues, ailments or challenges.

The Yuen Method is the result of ancient Chinese Shaolin temple energy-harnessing methods, combined with the knowledge that anatomy, physiology, structural analysis, energetic techniques, quantum physics, Qi and Shen Gong collectively offer. The method was created by Dr. Kam Yuen, as a result of his lifelong study and experience with martial arts, nutritional therapy, homeopathy and in-depth experience as both a structural engineer and doctor of chiropractic.

YUEN METHOD VIBRATIONAL FITNESS

Yuen Method Vibrational Fitness was engineered and implemented by Dr. Kam Yuen, D.C., Grandmaster of Shaolin Kung Fu and Aerospace Engineer to increase physical intelligence to maximize physical functions, physical performance, reduction of body weight, aging appearance, and quality of life as you age and to increase life expectancy.

You can have a healthier, more fit and rejuvenated body in just a few minutes using the Yuen Method Fitness Bar. As you shake the Yuen Method Fitness Bar, it creates a vibration throughout your entire body, deleting pain, stress, fatigue, fat, improving muscle strength, stimulating bone growth, increasing circulation of the blood and lymph and radically vibrating all your cells, molecules, atoms and quantum particles, all the way up and down your body structure so that you vibrate with greatly increased vitality.

We are made up of literally nothing more than vibrating energy. Humans are made of cells, which are made of atoms, which are made of particles, and those so-called particles are actually just vibrating energy. This should help you understand why VIBRATIONAL FITNESS is so important, not only to our body, mind and spirit, but to everything in the Universe.

TAI NJIO

tai njio photoTai Njio (Alexander Shanti’s Aunti/Mom) will introduce and facilitate the Yuen Method and Vibrational Fitness.

Trained and Certified by Dr. Kam Yuen, in 2003, Tai Njio has since then facilitated amazing shifts in over 2800 individuals internationally with the Yuen Method. She has taught Dr. Kam Yuen’s work in the US and Canada, leading over 75 classes and seminars.

Tai is now re-introducing his work locally as she knows it is the fastest and most effective way to shift out of the negative, be strengthened to support what you want, and to keep mind, body and spirit balanced throughout your day.

Please check Tai’s website for more useful information and opportunities to try the Yuen Method, if you are not able to make it on Monday, November 7th.  | www.TaiNjio.com

KAM YUEN, D.C., Grandmaster of Shaolin Kung Fu

Dr. Kam Yuen is the founder of Shaolin West International and is a 35th generation Shaolin Master, a present day equivalent of the ancient martial arts and healing master. He is “Grasshopper”, and was David Carradine’s master, and coordinator of the Kung Fu series.

27 April 2015 BKA Community Newsletter

April was full of exciting ki aikido events. We started the month with a well-attended 15th Annual Aikido Summit Denver. Villacorta Sensei represented Rocky Mountain Ki Society and led more than 70 enthusiastic Colorado aikidoka at this popular aikido friendship seminar.

We followed this up with a Ki Aikido Demonstration at CU Boulder’s International Festival, where BKA families, students and instructors, ages 6-60, got a chance to perform their arts in front of thousands of iFest attendees. We even got to sing Satya, who turned 6 that day, a “Happy Birthday” on stage!

We start out this week with our Spring Children’s Test. Nearly 20 children from BKA have been practicing diligently for months to prepare for this rank advancement opportunity. Congratulations to them (and their parents) for their dedication and hard work! Please come and support them! Especially if you have children of your own or have been considering coming to class for a while, this is a great opportunity to see what young children can accomplish through continued practice at BKA.

Boulder Ki Aikido to Perform Aikido Demonstration at University of Colorado–Boulder International Festival

Saturday, April 11, 4:00 – 10:00 pm

Boulder Ki Aikido Demonstration at 5:15 pm

Boulder Ki Aikido is excited to announce a Ki Aikido Demonstration at the international Boulder festival, iFest 2015, CU Boulder’s largest student event on campus. Come celebrate a colorful tapestry of cultures from around the world. iFest 2015 is FREE and open to the public.

The festival has gotten bigger every year, with over 30 countries participating and over 4,000 people.

NOTE TO DEMO PERFORMERS (and their families)

BKA performers and families will meet at 3:45 at the UMC’s Glenn Miller Ballroom for the International Festival and Boulder Ki Aikido’s demo 3:45 pm – Performers will meet on the street in front of the UMC to meet us and help with the mats. If you can get there a few minutes early, please follow the signs to the Aspen Room/performer’s entrance, check in, get your admissions token (a wrist band, I think), and pick up one cart for hauling the mats and wheel that to the street.  (NOTE: Parents and siblings who are NOT performing do not go in through this door.)

It is also the responsibility of parents of child performers that they will NOT be allowed to enter the event through the performers’ entrances unless they are also performing. We recommend that parents arrive at the event at 4 pm. and definitely no later than 4:30 pm, so they can wait in line with the public to enter the event.

ONLY performers (who will be up on the stage entertaining the crowd) will be allowed to enter the event through the performers’ entrances. The 2015 IFest Committee reserves the right to redirect people to the public entrance if they require extra admission tokens or will not be performing on stage with your group.

Last but not least, ALL performers are expected to leave the event after their performance is over. At the exit after your performance is over, your admission token will be collected. If your group or individuals from your groups wish to stay at the event, they must leave, and re-enter by waiting in line with the rest of the public. Prompt departure and return of admission tokens is requested to ensure fire code standards are being followed, otherwise the IFC may be heavily fined and the event shut down.
