Birth of the One Dojo

One-Dojo-Exterior-signageThis year marks the 20th year of the rebirth of the Boulder dojo of Rocky Mountain Ki Society. Since those early days in 1999, we have been visualizing a multi-disciplinary space where people practice a variety of arts centered around oneness, connection, and community—a much needed respite from our fast-paced, busy world.

Today, our new home at the One Dojo on 3005 Sterling Circle is the new beginning of that mindful community. Our intention is for the benefits of the meditative, interpersonal relationship practice, and graceful movements we are experiencing at Boulder Ki Aikido to resonate and attract a larger group of people—people who are seeing the separation and selfishness in the world, who want a new light, a new direction. Read more…

BKA Community Comes Together with Google Groups

In an effort to keep our BKA community together and for members to communicate with the whole group, to share ideas/insights, post questions/comments, seek assistance, and stay connected, we have set up a Boulder Ki Aikido Community in Google Groups.

We need your help! Voting for the 2019 CU & Boulder’s Best by Colorado Daily is in full swing. Voting ends February 28th.

We have a huge heart and a big vision. Please share this link with anyone else you know who loves everything Boulder Ki Aikido represents and would be willing to help us win this award: http://bit.ly/CUBest2019

BKA Rates Increase, Beginning March 15, 2019

To ensure we have a successful new beginning at the One Dojo, we will be raising our rates starting March 15, 2019. We have not increased rates in more than 15 years and now need to meet the rising real estate costs in Boulder!

See the new rates here
You may sign up for existing long-term plans now, to save in the coming months.

This rate increase is necessary for us to maintain a healthy, sustainable space in which the One Dojo community can flourish. Prices are competitive with the Boulder market and are scaled to encourage larger families to bring multiple members to practice in our dojo community.

Some of the major highlights are as follows:
  1. The average rate increase is ~ 20%:
    • from $75 to $90 for 1X per week
    • from $125 to $145 for 2X per week for Children’s classes
    • from $100 to $120 for up to 5 hours of adults classes (which includes any combination of four M & W teens, all-levels, or advanced classes; and one all-levels Saturday class).
    • Any adult participating in all 7 adult classes will need to move up to the new $150 per month unlimited class rate.
  2. Parents are encouraged to participate in their children’s classes. The price for parents will be at a savings of 50% of the full children’s class rates.
  3. Rates are scaled to provide savings for multiple children in one family and encourage total family participation.
  4. Long-Term PRE-PAID discounts will be available to everyone, as follows:
    • 3-Month Pre-Paid DISCOUNT | Save 10% Discounts
    • 6-Month Pre-Paid DISCOUNT | Save 12% Discounts
    • 12-Month Pre-Paid DISCOUNT | Save 15%
  5. Additional members of the same household can save 40%. This savings will also apply to parents who want to start training in adults classes.
  6. The total family maximum will go up from $200 to $250.

If the rate increase is cost-prohibitive for you and need to apply for financial hardship, please let us know by replying to this email. Financial hardship applications will need to be processed annually.
