I. Peace Samurai Children’s Ki Aikido Spring Camps

March 23, 25 and 27 (M/W/F) | 9 am – Noon
Open to children ages 6-12.

Drop off the kids for a safe, fun and constructive week of ki games, ki aikido drills, taigi arts, Samurai weapons arts, ki principles, story time and more. Classes will be taught by Villacorta Sensei, 3rd degree black belt in Shin Shin toitsu Aikido, Chuden in Ki Development.

II. Peacemaking with Mind & Body

a Spring Break Camp/Workshop

Open to ages 7 – 77! Families encouraged.

Come play with us right through the territory of conflict resolution. Learn how to turn conflict into your friend and engage with it in healthy, productive ways. Based on Ki Aikido principles. Taught by Merlyn Holmes and her son Landryk.

Vernal Equinox BKA All-Dojo Community Gathering

The Finn family has graciously offered to host Boulder Ki Aikido students and their families in their home for our next all-dojo gathering.We’ll be celebrating the Vernal Equinox!

If the weather is nice we’ll run around outside or play down at the creek, and if not, we’ll figure out plans for indoor fun.Please bring some food and beverages to share. Looking forward to gathering and playing together! All BKA members, active or inactive, are welcome!

Villacorta Sensei Teaches at Aikido Summit

Boulder Ki Aikido is excited to announce the participation of Villacorta Sensei to teach Ki Aikido on behalf of RMKS at the 15th annual Aikido Summit.

On Saturday, April 4, 2015, esteemed instructors from 6 aikido schools of various lineages will come together at the Denver Buddhist Temple for one full day of training.

Join fellow aikidoka for this fun event to celebrate friendship, respect for one another and unity. Anyone 4th kyu or higher is encouraged to attend this vigorous day of training.

Ki Aikido Demonstration at CU Boulder’s International Festival

Come celebrate a colorful tapestry of cultures from around the world at CU Boulder’s largest student event on campus. iFest 2015 is FREE and open to the public.

BKA will meet at CU-Boulder’sFarrand Field, behind the IMIG Music Building, for some play and socializing, then we’ll head on over to the UMC’s Glenn Miller Ballroom for the International Festival and Boulder Ki Aikido’s demo.

Register for Peace Samurai SUMMER Camps!


Hurry and pre-register before the camps fill up! Through play and ki aikido arts, the Peace Samurai Summer Camps teach children the ethical code of conduct of the samurai warrior class of Japan, including integrity, respect, heroic courage and compassion.

Session I — June 1-5
Session 2 — June 8-12
Session 3 — June 15-19
Session 4 — June 22-26

9am – 1pm, Monday-Friday. Open to children with or without any prior Ki Aikido experience, ages 6-12.

Children will have an excellent time learning Ki Aikido in all its forms and you’ll appreciate that they’ll learn to move well, coordinate mind and body and develop more peaceful ways of dealing with conflict. Student to teacher ratio is 12:1 or less to ensure quality attention and instruction. Register your child now. Camps will fill up fast.

NEW Japanese Yoga Class at BKA
{Develop Your Inner Power!}


Mondays & Wednesdays
5:50 – 6:30 pm
Do you want to study Ki principles but not in the context of a martial art? Do you want to apply Ki to your personal, school or work life.
This 40-minute, self-empowerment, Japanese Yoga class based on oneness is designed for people of all levels, looking to experience the mind-body benefits of Ki development without the direct experience of Ki Aikido rolls and martial techniques. The class will focus on mind-body unification principles, how to move gracefully, how to connect with oneself and others and how to use Ki principles in daily life.
Course work will include practice of the relaxed taiso, hitori waza exercises, Ki testing, Ki exploration partner exercises, Ki breathing and Ki meditation. Participants may wear regular, comfortable clothes for this class (traditional Ki Aikido uniform is not required). Students will not be required to sit seiza (on their knees) during the class. Please pass this on to someone who may be interested in only Ki training!
