Kids Martial Arts Class Schedule – Ki Aikido for Children & Their Parents

M & W 4:10–5:00 pm Early Elementary Child-Parent All-Levels Ki Aikido Class—for kids ages 6–9 and their parents, of all ki aikido levels (including beginners). Parental participation is highly encouraged, but not required.
M & W 5:10–6:00 pm Older Kids’ Ki Aikido Class—for kids ages 9-12, of all ki aikido levels (including beginners). Parental participation is permitted.
M & W 6:10–7:00 pm Teens All-Levels Ki Aikido Class—for teens, ages 13–18, of all ki aikido levels (including beginners).
T & TH 4:20–5:10 pm Pre-School Child-Parent All-Levels Ki Aikido Class — for kids ages 4–6 and their parents, of all ki aikido levels (including beginners). Parental participation is highly encouraged, but not required.
T & TH 5:20–6:10 pm Older Kids’ Fundamentals Ki Aikido Class—for kids ages 9-12, ideal for beginners students (open to all levels). Parental participation is permitted.
Sa 10:10–11:00 am Intermediate Kids’ Ki Aikido Class – for kids blue belt or higher, ages 9-15 or by special permission of Instructor. Parental participation is permitted.
Sa 11:10 – 12 noon Early Elementary Child-Parent All-Levels Ki Aikido Class—for kids ages 6–9 and their parents, of all ki aikido levels (including beginners). Parental participation is highly encouraged, but not required.


Martial Arts Classes for Teens

M & W 6:10 – 7:00 pm Teens All-Levels Ki Aikido Class  for teens ages 13—18. All levels of ki aikido proficiency practice together (including beginners).


Martial Arts Classes for Adults

M & W 7:10 – 8:00 pm Adults All-Levels Ki Aikido Class – This class is geared for adults; however, teens ages 13 and up may use this class as an additional opportunity to train.
M & W 8:10 – 9:00 pm Advanced Ki Aikido Class – For adults (and teens age 13 and up) with a rank of 3rd Kyu or higher. Must be able to do forward rolls and take relatively fast ukemi safely.
Sa 9 – 9:50 am All-Levels Ki Aikido Class –For adults (and teens ages 13 and up). Class will be geared toward adults; however, teenagers may use this class as an additional opportunity to train; also children ages 8-12, who can focus, are welcome to participate. At the Boulder Circus Center.

 


Social Wednesdays for Adults

On the first and third Wednesdays of every month, we will combine the Adults All-Levels Ki Aikido Class with the Advanced Ki Aikido Class and work together for 1.25 hours. This is intended to provide a solid interaction between senior students and beginners. All class participants, as well as our Boulder Ki Aikido community at large, are invited to go out to get to know one another, after class. Typically, we will go out to a fast-casual dinner at Pica’s Taqueria, Motomaki, Backcountry Pizza and/or some other destination that helps promote healthy social interaction.

W* 7:10 – 8:25 pm Adults All-Levels Ki Aikido Class – This class is geared for adults of all levels. Teens may also use this class as an additional opportunity to train.

Open Mat Time for Adults & Children

From time to time, we offer open mat time for adults and children – for ages 6 and up. Come practice what you need most help with! An Instructor or senior student will be on hand to oversee your practice. To attend this class, you must have some basic knowledge of Ki Aikido. Bring a fellow aikidoka!


Ki Mind-Body Training for Adults & Teens

Ki training will be experienced in every Ki Aikido class. No special Ki raining class is currently being offered.

    • SIGN IN USING THE EMAIL AND PASSWORD  YOU CREATED DURING SIGN-UP
  • WAIVER
    Completed Registration and Assumption of Risk Waiver is required prior to participation. Parent (or legally responsible guardian) must sign this waiver on behalf of children under the age of 18. This step is completed during the sign up process.
  • WHAT TO WEAR
    light stretchy pants and shirt (gym clothes), “dogi” or “gi” for short (martial arts uniform) for the long term (available here). Unless you have practiced martial arts before, we recommend starting out with the Lightweight Gi.
  • WHAT TO BRING
    • Please help us be kind to our environment by bringing a refillable container to every class. We’ve got plenty of filtered water at the dojo.
    • MOST IMPORTANTLY, your smile and an open mind!
